Specifications for Gacodeck

Correct installation is required for Gacodeck to obtain it's greatest effectiveness.

First, the selection of the plywood is extremely important to the overall performance of the system. The following are minimum recommendations. The application of Gacodeck membranes to plywood is recommended only when these requirements are met.

Plywood should be AC Exterior Underlayment with plugged crossbands under the face (ACX PCBUF) or MARINE grade.

Other grades of plywood are unsuitable as a substrate for liquid-applied coating membranes due to lack of dimensional stability, and a high frequency of poor glue lines which allow buckling or lifting of the top ply.

Secondly, the installation of the plywood is also crucial to the Gacodeck system. Also important to the system are the terminations at the perimeter of the deck.

If these requirements are followed, your Gacodeck will last for many years to come.
